I can slap some text in a window somewhere and read bits and pieces while I am doing other stuff. A podcast makes me actually have to dedicate effort toward pursuing the info, and worst of all it makes me WAIT for the linear progression of the podcaster's speech to get around to the point. That text I can just scan for the interesting parts in a non-linear fashion, and look for the supporting details afterward (if the text looks like it holds water).

So for the most part I'd be happy if podcasters would just stuff it and sit down at the word processor, please. If they want me to absorb their position and subscribe, they'd better do a little of the work for me.
